Vårdcentralen Ekholmen is seeking a new specialist physician colleague who wants to be part of our Ekholmen team.

Our Offer

Primary Care Center Östergötland consists of 33 region-operated healthcare centers, Vårdcentrum Finspång, Child Health Care Unit, 1177 and emergency centers during evenings and weekends, and the General Medicine Training Center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we provide care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

At Vårdcentralen Ekholmen, you will find a unit with balanced finances and well-functioning specialist clinics: asthma/COPD, diabetes team with dietitian and medical foot care, elderly care clinic, and family center. We work integratively with our psychosocial clinic without long waiting lists and offer lectures, CBT groups, and counseling interventions. This spring, we will also try out doctor teleQ for further improved continuity for colleagues who are interested and curious about the work model.

Vårdcentralen Ekholmen is located in the southern part of Linköping and is responsible for both urban and rural areas. We currently have approximately 22,000 registered individuals. The area is expanding. The population is age-wise and socioeconomically mixed, with a slightly higher proportion of children and the elderly.

As a specialist physician in general medicine with us, you will:

• As a newly qualified specialist physician, you will have 1100–1200 residents on your list to be responsible for, with adjustments made for part-time work.
• Become part of a fantastic group of competent specialist physicians and ST colleagues.
• Help build the future healthcare center with a combination of patient-centered care, continuity, digital solutions, development, and research.

Job Description

We are now looking for a specialist physician for stimulating work with people of all ages, focusing on a holistic view and good patient care. The position includes regular clinic operations, child health care, home healthcare including nursing homes, emergency services (emergency center and on-call line), supervision of students, as well as participation in development activities. We are organized in teams with physicians, nurses, and nursing assistants for collaboration around patients and opportunities for competence exchange. The climate is open, and we enjoy working together.

Vårdcentralen Ekholmen is one of 6 academic healthcare centers in the region and part of the primary care university hospital unit. We have a positive view of research, development, and improvement projects.

We see digital technology and video visits as part of our regular operations.

Work Group

The clinic has several colleagues with long and solid experience, an enthusiastic group of younger specialist physicians, and a large group of ST physicians. Currently, there are 15 employed specialist physicians, 9 ST physicians, as well as several younger skilled resident substitutes and future colleagues.

About You

You are a specialist physician in general medicine and have previous experience working in primary care. You have a Swedish medical license (attached to the application) and Swedish language skills corresponding to level Swedish C1. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other operations, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You have a valid B driver's license.

You have good collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You have good judgment and communicate clearly. We want you to be unpretentious, flexible, and enjoy working in a team. We value your commitment to business development and that you have social competence and can meet different people based on their needs. We place great importance on personal qualities.
